Skin color has always been a controversial topic be it in India or abroad. In India though its been for ages people have this innate tendency to look down on people with dark skin or lets say anything but fair skin color. The guys in india no matter what there skin color is will always look for a fair bride so he can flaunt her n she doesn't even have to be pretty or good looking, just being fair is enough.
Here's what i don't understand we are blessed with a naturally tanned skin n we spent tons of money n time getting rid of it on the other hand on the other side of the globe its exactly the opposite.
WHAT I FOUND ON WIKI
In the 1920s, Coco Chanel accidentally got sunburnt while visiting the French Riviera. Her fans apparently liked the look and started to adopt darker skin tones themselves. Tanned skin became a trend partly because of Coco’s status and the longing for her lifestyle by other members of society
Today there are an estimated 50,000 outlets for tanning, whereas in the 1990s there were only around 10,000. The tanning business is a five-billion dollar industry.
ON THE OTHER HAND IN INDIA I AM PRETTY SURE THE BUSINESS IS BOOMING OF TRYING TO MAKE PEOPLE FAIR PRODUCTS.
I am wheatish gal. I am completely secured n happy with it. I don't try n change my natural color by any means, all i do is try n keep my skin as healthy n try n maintain the natural color.
I hope people would do the same.
I never knew the fact you shared about Coco here...loved this post !!!Keep Penning!
